The Constructor Group is a leading provider of storage and and handling solutions.

Altor acquired Constructor (previously Aker Material Handling) in October 2007 and made an add-on acquisition of Constructor Finland in December 2007. Going forward, Altor will develop the company in partnership with the management.

The Constructor Group is the second largest provider of storage solutions for the industrial segment in Europe and the largest in the commercial segment. The product line ranges from shelving systems to complex high volume mobile storage solutions. Main products for the industrial segment include stationary and mobile pallet racking, industrial shelving, and machines and for the commercial segment archival and office storage & retrieval and office shelving. Products are promoted in local markets through the brand names Constructor, Bruynzeel, Dexion, and Kasten. The Constructor Group is headquartered in Norway, has production facilities in Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and Norway, has sales offices and distributors throughout Europe and employs around 1,000 people.

Altor's agenda is to support the Constructor Group in order to accelerate margin improvement and presence in Eastern Europe. Altor is working closely with the company's management on initiatives within product redesign, lean manufacturing, sourcing, and sales optimization, as well as on the M&A agenda.
